Every month, Just Jewelry features an item that has been purchased from another website/dealer. The jewelry featured on this page has been purchased by me for my personal collection. That's my daughter, Lee, wearing a wonderful figural genie pin by HAR that I purchased from Daniel's Antique and Vintage Jewelry. Yes, Janice Hullender, it's YOU in the Dealer's Spotlight!

When I first saw this genie on Janice's new site, I just knew I had to own it. I had purchased the earrings about a month earlier and was looking for one of the several matching, but slightly different, pieces that were made by Har in the 1950s. Each piece to the entire set was made with a slightly different genie, though all pieces include genies holding crystal balls. I am always on the look-out for other pieces of this set. Apparently Janice was too, as she told me she had been looking for the earrings for a long time. I don't think I would have had a hard time convincing her to keep the pin and buy the earrings!

Janice has had an interest in antiques for twenty years, ever since she and her husband Cliff lived in Atlanta, Georgia and owned a McDonald's franchise (see photo). Janice told me recently, "I loved antiques because they reminded me of my childhood and my grandmother, Della. My interest shifted to antique costume jewelry about 1984, when I bought my first Eisenberg Original brooch. I've been collecting and selling high end costume jewelry ever since." She especially loves the big, glitzy sets ( just like the rest of us!).

Janice has been on the internet for about three months. Her website, Danielle's Antique and Vintage Jewelry, is dedicated to the memory of her daughter, Danielle, and includes a specialty page that features mourning jewelry. Janice and Cliff also offer Merchant Credit Card Accounts to other website dealers specializing in antique and vintage costume jewelry. I am currently in the process of establishing such an account.
