Many collectors of CJ are now turning their eyes toward the less sparkling, but no less beautiful, soft glow of copper jewelry. It's versatility and abstract, freeform design make it a complement to a wide range of fashions. The copper jewelry for sale on this page was created and popularized in the 1950s primarily by the work of two men: Frank Rebajes of New York and Jerry Fels of California. Fels' company, Renoir of California, produced two lines of copper jewelry, one without enameling that was marked "Renoir,"and another with enameling that was marked "Matisse." Although other companies produced copper on a limited scale, Rebajesand Renoir/Matisse designs are the most numerous and sought-after collectible copper pieces today.
